These days with social media and Insta-mums posting glamazon bump pics, belly art and every other cheesy pregnancy photo-op under sun, it can seem a little overwhelming when it becomes your turn to mark your pregnancy. If you are the belly art type then by all means go for it (no judgement), but if you’re looking for a more subtle way to remember your pregnancy, we’ve got a few ideas to help you on your way.

1. The pregnancy photoshoot

Ok, so you can still do a pregnancy photoshoot without it being OTT. Wind machines, sexy lingerie and elaborate backdrops are not mandatory.

Whether you choose to enlist a professional photographer or simply get your partner to snap a few shots when you’re feeling good, you’re going to want memories of your bump to look back on.

You don’t necessarily need to share them to social media (if you don’t want to) you can just keep them for your own personal memories.

2. Bumpies

The same goes with bump pics. You don’t need to commit to a daily bumpie or even post them online at all! Taking a few progress shots can be a nice way to look back on your pregnancy and see how much your body changed while your baby was still in there.

There are apps that will make it easy for you, or you can just snap a shot here and there on your phone when you’re feeling up to it.

3. Take pen to paper

Whether you commit to a whole pregnancy journal, writing down a few thoughts here or there – or even penning a letter to your unborn baby (or future self) – putting down some memories, thoughts, feelings and hopes can be a great way to mark the occasion. You’ll love reading it down the track and so will your little one when they’re older!

4. Push present

This doesn’t necessarily need to be a gift from your partner, it can be a gift from you to you! Buy yourself something sentimental, whether it’s a piece of jewellery or something else you’ve had your eye on and can keep forever. This will always make you think of this time in your life when you wear it.

5. Pick a pregnancy scent

They say nothing evokes memories quite like our sense of smell, so why not pick a signature scent to wear during your pregnancy. Each time you wear this fragrance, you will forever associate it with this special time in your life.

6. Go on a babymoon

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, babymoons are about so much more than just a holiday they are the perfect way to remember and celebrate your pregnancy. Make special memories with your partner and your bump before the craziness of life with a baby begins.
