While you might be caught up busily preparing for baby, why don’t you prepare some stuff for yourself! In those first couple of weeks or even months, you might be sleep deprived or busy with a baby, so you’ll need to make dinner quickly or have that block of dark chocolate on hand.
One step at a time…
Try not to start feeling too overwhelmed with what you might need to get organised in time, simply take it one step at a time. Tackling any declutter or organising task is easily achieved if you approach it in bite-sized pieces. So why not make a plan in the weeks leading up to the birth to focus on an area, room or even cupboard at a time. You will be amazed at what you can achieve.
Being organised in the lead up to the birth will make it much easier and less stressful for when people come over.
And trust me – they will come. Even better why not take advantage of these guests by letting them help out a bit! The grandparents, in-laws, husbands, they will be able to help out if you’re in a position where you can’t get up (or maybe even taking a quick nap) and so they will be able to easily find everything and help you – and most importantly, they’ll know to put it away!
Don’t forget about yourself…
Make sure you have some stuff ready for YOU. Self-care is generally the thing that goes out the window when there is a baby around but if you are organised in advance, it will make things much easier for you.
