The most stream-worthy new additions to BINGE this August
Hello spring: How seasonal eating supports your family’s immunity
We’re so excited about BINGE’s brand-new August lineup! They’ve put together a massive range of content to entertain you and the kids all month long. This thrilling list kicks off with The Trouble with Kanye, a documentary by award-winning journalist Mobeen Azhar. It explores how world-famous rapper Kanye West became a figurehead for the Trump campaign, as well as racism and antisemitism. It comes out on August 9th.
For horror fans, BINGE is bringing us two particularly exciting films: M3GAN and A Nightmare On Elm Street (1984). M3GAN was released in January 2023, and features a disturbingly realistic storyline as it plays into our fears of the potential of AI. Gemma, a roboticist and caretaker of her 8-year-old niece, designs M3GAN, an AI robot designed to look like a little girl. M3GAN is supposed to be the ultimate friend and protector to Gemma’s niece, but evolves into something much worse. Tune into this modern horror flick on August 12th!
As for A Nightmare on Elm Street, if you love horror movies or 80’s classics, this one is a must-see. We all know the name Freddy Krueger, so those who want to stay in-the-know on pop culture have got to see his very first appearance in any media.
For family movie nights, our favourite pick coming to BINGE is A Little Princess. The 1995 drama is appropriate for kids but entertaining enough for adults. Loosely based on a true story, a little girl is sent to a strict boarding school when her father enlists in WWI. When he is later presumed dead, the headmistress realises she won’t be getting more money and forces the girl to become a servant.
Young children will love the uplifting British animated show Postman Pat Delivery Service, which is premiering its first season on BINGE this August 8th! Follow the friendly postman Pat and his cat Jess as they deliver mail throughout the fictional village of Greendale.
Finally, for older kids, try out beloved Adventure Time spinoff Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake. This animated show is brand-new and features best friends Fionna the Human and Cake the Cat, the gender-bent alternate versions of Finn the Human and Jake the Dog. The Adventure Time world is intricate and features a hilarious range of characters like Lumpy Space Princess and Evil Guy. It also includes multiple LGBTQ+ side characters. Adventure Time is suitable for ages 10 and up due to some violence.
