Toddlers can be fussy little eaters with their never ending change in food preferences! If we have had a particularly bad day where they just want to eat anything white, I find that a smoothie is a great option for making sure you amp up their day with a little goodness.
There are a few benefits to making smoothies with toddlers. They absolutely love getting involved and it’s a great way to engage them with food by letting them touch and taste along the way. Let them scoop, pour and chop everything up, so they take part in the creation of their smoothie using healthy ingredients. We do a little ‘blend it’ dance while we wait for our blender to do its job and then sit together at the bench to enjoy the fruits of our labour.
- 1 Ripe Peeled Banana
- 1 Cup of Frozen Berries
- 1/2 an Avocado
- 1 tbsp Soaked Chia Seeds
- 2 cups of your chosen milk – or a nice big splash to make desired consistency
Depending on what is in the cupboard, my kids also love to add: a handful of Baby Spinach, 2 tbsp Cacao/Carob Powder, 1 tsp Vanilla Extract or even a few Medjool Pitted Dates for added sweetness PLUS don’t forget to add your sachet (2 for mine) of Biostime Infant Probiotics with Vitamin D for immune support!

Chop, scoop and pour all of your ingredients into the blender and then let it do all the hard work. Serve it up in your little one’s favourite cup, complete with their own little eco-friendly straw.
