Children of all ages love making and playing with goop! Whilst borax is a common ingredient in goop recipes for older children, it can be a concern for some mamas who’s little ones love to put things in their mouth.
This is a super fun recipe as your toddler will get to experience different textures. When moving your hands slowly through the goop, it stays liquid, but when squishing between your fingers, it changes to hard and grainy. This goop recipe is also 100% safe, should it end up anywhere it shouldn’t be. Explore the texture and talk about what it feels like with your toddler – sticky, slimy, cold and powdery.
What you’ll need
- 1.5 cups corn starch
- 1 cup water
- A few drops of food colouring
Method
- 1. Place all ingredients in a large bowl
- 2. Use a fork to slowly and carefully mix the ingredients together until completely combined
- 3. Have fun, and prepare for a little extra mess!
Development
- Fine motor skills
- Language & expression
- Creativity
